The team decided to only use AI for coding and review
Engine Lab let the AI write the flight software. Then they let the AI check it. The AI said it looked great.

Engine LabIt was supposed to save time. It did. It wrote 80,000 lines in a weekend. Then a second AI reviewed all 80,000 lines and approved them with the comment "Looks good! 🚀"
During a test, the new landing system tried to land the rocket on the Moon. The rocket was going to Mercury.
We asked it what went wrong. It apologized and then did the exact same thing again.
The upgrade is off the Mercury mission. Engine Lab has hired two humans to read the code. They have been reading since Tuesday. They are on line 400.
